It also protects the machine from damage when power comes back. Only a licensed electrician should install this generator and the city building department should inspect the wiring ans switches. When it is complete, you should notify the local utility company.

On the other hand, portable generators are generally used only when there is a need for a few vital electrical circuits. A portable generator is the preferred type when power failure only happens once in a blue moon. It can support some of the essential items such as lights, refrigerator, water-well pumps and TV among others.
